The Functional Anatomy of Frontal Lobe Networks
Speaker: Dr Marco Catani, Natbrainlab
17TH MAY 2012
This seminar introduced the work from the Cortex special issues on the frontal lobes, in particular the short frontal intralobar connections.
Dr Marco Catani heads the Natbrainlab team at the Institute of Psychiatry, and is also a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Maudsley Hospital. Dr. Catani has pioneered the use of novel neuroimaging techniques to examine networks underlying language, vision, and spatial awareness. He has contributed to the development of neuroanatomical models of cognition and behavior, and to the elucidation of the anatomic basis of cognitive and neuropsychiatric disorders. He has recently released a book, the ‘Atlas of Human Brain Connections.’ In 2012 he was awarded the Norman Geschwind Prize for Neurology.
