This talk will consider the neuroanatomical basis of musical perception, based on clinical cases of acquired amusia. It will also explore the phenomenology of the developmental disorder, Congenital Amusia, exploring the pitch perception, pitch memory and timbral abilities of these individuals, as well as the evaluative aspects of the disorder.
